Upcycled Polyhedron Lamp
Recycled chipboard and reclaimed boba straws, 2015
This lamp was made entirely from other people's trash, which I scavenged from curbsides and dumpsters. The project was inspired by the socio-economic inequality in the design world as well as the open design movement.
The frame of the lamp is laser-cut recycled chipboard, and the panes are used boba straws. The socket was taken from an old lamp and the cord and plug were cut from an old television.
The lamp can rest on any of its faces, for variations in form and light tint and intensity.
The replicable design can be found on Instructables.com here.
